(*thought I'd start opening up threads for all of his movies to keep us all entertained.*)
Okay so I watched the Covenant again today and I realized another reason for me liking the movie as much as I did. In a genre/market where the high school kids are always shown making out as much as possibly with thrown in gratuitous nudity(okay the pool scene does NOT count) with absolutely no plot reason other than luring an audience I thought the way they handled the relationships of Caleb and Sarah and Pogue and Kate quite well. It was definately more realistic than some of the other movies i have seen, sweet even. It was just refreshing to see the "sweet" side of relationships for a change.
On a side note though, am i the only one who thought that Caleb and Sarah had about as much chemistry as block of granite? I just did not like her character, though I'm not really a fan of the damsel in distress types and Kate and her "magic" tattoos just kind of ticked me off. I'd much rather have seen a better foil for Caleb's character, someone to actually get him to respond to things and to be passionate about.

Well one of the things whyi enjoy the movie is because i like to see Caleb and Sarah... i mean i love the way they look at each other like they're always up to something.
I honestly just like to see HIM smiling, and i agree with you the relationships in the movie show a very different side.

I thought Caleb and Sarah had pretty good chemistry, it could have been better though. But I loved the way he seemed to smile so much in the movie

What can i say about The Covenant....The Covenant well I love the hot Guys in it especially Caleb (of course). I love the story line it's very interesting about bloodlines of Warlocks in Ipswitch, I love the effects in the movie including the fight scene between Caleb and Chase. I thought that Sarah and Caleb was really sweet and it's so cute what Caleb will do to rescue Sarah from Chase. I also love the music to the soundtrack as well. I recommended alot of people to watch The COvenant and they loved it! =)

I hated it, I can only handle it for the eye candy alone. Everything about it otherwise just annoys me, the plot could have had so much potential and they just ruined it. Nobody got to showcase any acting talent. It's all special effects and a little bit of dialogue. The part where Caleb and Chase are having it out in Sara's dorm is the only part that has even a hint of trying. It's a good movie for teenage girls who are just wanting something to look at. I wanted to like it. I've seen it several times because of Steven alone, but it's lacking anything that could possibly reel me in as far as the story goes.
I do like the soundtrack though.
I hate to always be the downer here, but in this particular case, there could have been sooo much more added in to make this movie better.

I think you're right about Sarah, magpie...She was a bit dull. And they only knew each other for a couple of days before Caleb found out he was madly in love with her...I think they moved too fast. Then again, Caleb needed something as a stimulation to go to the barn, so, I guess it was either girl in trouble or friends in trouble...and the friends could take care of themselves because they had powers of their own. So I can understand that relationship, but I just really didn't like Sarah.

Exactly. When it comes to this movie I am always a bit torn I mean it it a great popcorn movie with great songs, special effects and a decent cast but then I also find myself agreeing to some of the things sad says, the plot was under developed leaving us in the dark about certain things but none of that is the actors' faults, I actually think they did a good job. I just felt sorry for the youngest Ipswich brother Tyler, who had like 3 lines in the whole movie.

Yea, and they didn't even let him do the awesome car scene, either. Why have the fourth brother if he's not going o play a big role in the movie?

Cus three would have seemes too much like a Charmed rip-off. Ooh the Ipswich Boys versus the Halliwell Sisters.

Yup...and this tiem give him the good girl.(*giggles*) I'd much rather see Caleb in a love/hate realtionship. I mean okay so he smiles a lot and that is awesome but there is no reason he can't be smiling whilst exchanging one liners.

Haha.
He'll prolly smile a lot less in the next movie if Chase is still after him. I think Pogue'll prolly ascend next, and then Reid and Chase'll go after Reid...because...he's the second strongest?

Hmmm,Im wondering whether they will bring back Chase should there be a sequal. i know they left the ending open but somehow I can see them going with another villian type character...possibly even a female...I don't know, im just worried about whtehr there actually will be a sequal, the movie did well enough at the box office and DVD sales however more time is passing so if we dont get wind of a sequal by end of this year, mid next year I very much doubt that there will be one.
