I saw this implemented on other boards, so I decided that I'm going to start doing it every couple of months here on the forum as well.
I just recently made the forum public for everyone to view. This is on account of the fact there are soooo many people registered at the forum who have never posted. You can still only post if you're a registered member, which will stay the rule.
Now, on account of that, I've decided that by the sheer number of people who obviously just wanted to have one or two looks around and never contribute to the forum by posting, that I'll start deleting obviously unused member accounts. Since a forum is supposed to be a community of people to talk about a certain topic or topics, what is the point of being a member if you don't contribute? So...here's the new guideline that will be implemented ASAP:
** If you've registered as a member and have not posted anywhere on the forum within one month of joining, your profile/member status will be deleted. If you've posted at least once, your profile will not be deleted (this is subject to change later).
Now I am expecting this to *drastically* reduce our total member count, but that's okay! I'd rather have a handful of truly active members than a number that doesn't reflect forum support. By simply removing the "forum only viewable by registered members" option, this will hopefully cut down on people registering that don't want to contribute.
Since you can now view the message boards without registering as a member, this shouldn't negatively effect anyone. If your profile is deleted and you decide you want to partake in a thread and join in on the Steven worship and discussions, please re-register...you're more than welcome!!!
Hopefully this will also boost Steven exposure to those who are not as familiar with his work and maybe- just *maybe*- entice others to be as enthusiastic about this great man as we are! Here's to hoping!!
I will start deleting inactive members on December 1st, to give people who have not yet posted and still want to take part in the forum an opportunity
Any questions can be directed to me via private message. Thanks!
